The VX chipset was aimed fairly and squarely at the consumer market. But now I cannot find any appropriate driver and every one I tried didn't remove the question mark in the device manager. I gave a full access password, and I have enabled the file sharing. So I guess it can't be helped The VX chipset's advantages over the HX: It's in the Code: I have no idea about W8 but I do know that sharing your whole drive isn't a good idea.

Beware the so-called "VX Pro" chipset, which is not the VX but a cheaper imitator trying to confuse the buying public by making it sound like an enhanced VX chipset. The CPU has to be fed data from the secondary cache as quickly as possible, and if the necessary data isnt already in the cache, the SC fetches it from main memory and loads it into the cache.

IDE drives contain most of the controlling circuitry built into the hard disk itself, so the PIIX is mainly responsible for shifting data from the drives into RAM and back as quickly as possible. Using robot software to mass-download the site degrades the server and is prohibited.
